This is a trash book. It skirts around the basics of Android, but this is by no means a guide.I wish I could give negative stars.
Being a second edition you'd think they'd iron out the grammatical, spelling and formatting errors. I'd especially prefer not to see the same paragraphs copied multiple time. I can look past the tricks used to add extra pages if there was something of substance here. If the font and formatting were normal, it would be a pamphlet.
Do you self a favor, buy a real book on android programming; Not this mess.

Great
I thought I could ignore the spelling and grammar issues but I'm giving up -- it's distracting and slowing me down so much.
It was an okay book telling you how to create an app - however, there are so many jargons and acronyms that are not really discussed in the book that can potentially turn off a person from actually pursuing the app creation. An example will be - "learn Java" - okay. So then if you don't know Java then what's the point of pursuing it, right?
Anyway, the book can deal more with having photos in there so the users can actually see for themselves how the API GUI of the App creator of Google works - what each menu does, and you know, just make it easier for dummies to understand.
If you're more of an advanced user, then book may be for you.
I really need to educate myself in terms of Android applications. I’m always searching for books that will definitely enhance my knowledge on this application. The cover and the title of this book really captivated my eyes and that’s the reason why I download this one. I think this book need to have it proofread before publishing.
Mistakes on nearly every page, few pictures, surface level explanations, and there aren't even page numbers in the contents page! (So how are you meant to jump to a specific section without guessing??).

This guide has fallen behind the times. However, its worse characteristic is that is is poorly written. In fact, it is honestly the mostly poorly written published work I have ever encountered. Clearly this book went to print without the benefit of a good editor. The countless grammar errors suggest it is written by someone that has not mastered English writing skills.
That is not to say that the content is totally without merit. You can usually, though not always, get the intent of the author despite the poor grammar.
There were many misspellings and grammar mistakes. Seems like it was a poor translation from another language. Lacks needed detail in some parts. Was hoping for a good reference for function calls and objects.
